MLB Headquarters
New York, NY
Since the mid-1800s, baseball has been known as America’s pastime, inspiring generations of fans and myriad traditions. So, when Major League Baseball sought to reimagine its headquarters, the goal was to create a space that celebrates the sport’s rich heritage—while also connecting to its dynamic present and future.
To accomplish this, NBBJ’s experience design studio, ESI, designed a series of media interventions that immerse employees and visitors in the excitement of baseball. Seven real-time media experiences highlight iconic players and moments, with each floor themed to elements of the game like hitting or pitching. Environmental graphics and installations celebrate legendary teams, while a three-story projection-mapped display streams live highlights, algorithmic animations, and classic footage to keep the space active year-round.
Features
An interactive photobooth in the fifth-floor concourse invites employees and visitors to imitate star players’ hottest moves and funniest moments, creating personalized content ready for seamless social sharing.
