The Journey Continues: NBBJ Outlines Progress, and Areas for Further Action, in Its Annual JEDI Report
At NBBJ, we are a stronger firm when our diverse voices come together to speak up. That same spirit guides the creation of our annual JEDI report, a snapshot of our firm’s commitment to Justice, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion. The report, which you can download here, includes highlights of progress made, as well as areas where we need to double down in our efforts, across three areas of impact: our people, our work and our communities. These efforts include:
- Increasing financial and volunteer support of Hip Hop Architecture Camp and NOMA
- Growing our JEDI Ambassador Program across office locations
- Hosting "Courageous Conversations" with Kwame Christian, Managing Director of the American Negotiation Institute
- Celebrating the opening of multiple projects that support JEDI causes, including the Seattle Children's Odessa Brown Clinic in South Seattle
- Boosting collaborating with diverse and underrepresented consultants
- Hosting design justice workshops with groups around the firm, including design performance leaders and firmwide interns
Future efforts will focus on additional transparency of employee demographic data, HBCU partnerships for recruiting, removing barriers with internship scholarships and increased career advocacy.
