Two Union Square Repositioning
Older office buildings often face challenges keeping pace with evolving work cultures. To support an ever more mobile workforce, the 30-year-old Two Union Square Tower is repositioned with public spaces and amenities, enhanced through a customized lighting design to create new social and work environments.
Lighting was a critical component of the repositioning to foster an inviting, uplifting environment that responds to new ways of working. The NBBJ Lighting team created a strategy that draws on the Pacific Northwest’s unique geography, highlighting the area’s historic roots while showcasing the design’s dynamic craft.
Features
Serving as destinations rather than passageways, the building’s lobbies invite tenants and the public to connect. Glowing pendant lights in the main lobby showcase welcoming and flexible places to meet and work, while showcasing the region’s landscape of ocean, mountains and forest.
