QMB Innovation Centre
In keeping with the new paradigm for science and research buildings which combine multiple disciplines under one roof, the Queen Mary Bio (QMB) Innovation Centre is a shared commercial and academic facility dedicated to incubating science entrepreneurs and promoting knowledge transfer while strengthening collaborative ties between businesses and Queen Mary University of London.
Located in an East London conservation area, the QMB Innovation Centre had to successfully bring together the distinct worlds of commercial research and academia within one building, as well as enhance community relations and contribute to the local neighborhood. The inherently flexible design—meeting rooms can flex to offices should additional space be required, and the lower ground floor offices are interchangeable to laboratory and maker space—provides an environment that promotes choice, while several tenancy suites support start-ups of various sizes and stages.
