BlackRock Headquarters
Built for change, the BlackRock headquarters embodies efficiency and adaptability—its flexible infrastructure allows teams to reconfigure the workplace again and again without disruption or added cost. Inspired by New York City’s energy and rhythm, the design pairs collaborative zones with quiet moments of respite, creating a dynamic environment where connection and innovation thrive.
Rooted in the firm's “One BlackRock” philosophy, an egalitarian design language shapes every detail. A recurring “starry night” lighting feature reflects unity across the global organization, while the trading floor is surrounded by expansive, daylit social spaces. Flexible systems—from raised floors and underfloor power and air distribution to wireless lighting—enable the space to evolve as fast as the firm itself.
Features
At the center of the workplace is a “Central Park,” which connects the building vertically and horizontally. Consisting of collaborative spaces that support large group, small group and individual work, “Central Park” is centered around a glass-enclosed staircase running through the middle of the floor. Each office floor is also anchored by two “Public Plazas,” which serve as social spaces with food amenities and informal gathering areas.
