Confidential Company Headquarters
For a 145-year-old company advancing into the future, this confidential company's new headquarters reinforces a workplace ecosystem centered around employees and neighborhoods, enabling connection throughout the organization’s network.
Consolidating its workforce into half the square footage of its previous location and bringing together more than 15 departments and executive suites, the design captures the company’s legacy and innovative work.
With an eye toward equity of space to reduce hierarchy and support focused work, employees are assigned to neighborhoods with access to desks, enclosed meeting rooms and lounges. Each floor incorporates a unique palette of furnishings and finishes to lend identity to the neighborhoods.
Throughout the workplace and along the circulation “boulevard,” there are also working cafes, gateway lounges, meeting hubs and social gathering areas—including a coffee and tech bar, library and broadcasting center—most of which feature views to the surrounding landscape.
Features
The organization is fast-moving, which extends to the pace of the project itself. The team was able to conceive the project, document, and complete construction to allow for occupancy within 21 months of kickoff. This “out of phase” construction process included preordering materials, paying close attention to supply chain issues, expedited furniture procurement, and the installation of finishes and furniture in a parallel process with construction.
