on Their Feet

Seeking a headquarters where fashion-forward footwear could be created through a collaborative process, Topline Corporation sought out NBBJ to convert their industrial warehouse into a dynamic workplace.

Topline, the parent company to footwear lines Report, Report Signature, and R2, sells to wholesale buyers and department stores. Before the renovation, Topline’s designers worked above the warehouse in closed cubicles without access to daylight, an unwelcoming environment that didn’t reflect their commitment to fashion and design.

Now, designers and corporate employees alike share airy, open workspaces that ring a central showroom area and runway. The concrete floors and high ceilings retain the industrial aesthetic of the warehouse facility, while new, flexible lighting is used to illuminate the workplaces, spotlight the merchandise, and energize the environment.
