Partner | Commercial Market Leader
Partner Tim Johnson plays an instrumental role in the leadership of the firm’s commercial and healthcare practices as well as its New York office. With expertise in high-rise design, urban healthcare campuses and the development of creative districts, Tim brings a broad perspective that has helped a diverse range of clients across the US, Asia and other international markets transform their ideas into reality.
Tim believes that design is a powerful business strategy across industries, enabling clients to redefine their brands, transform how they work, and realize new opportunities. His approach is grounded in the idea that the design of experiences—including programming and hospitality—are a natural extension of architecture, helping organizations create more engaging spaces and places.
Tim’s award-winning work spans the globe, encompassing some of NBBJ’s most transformative healthcare projects including Massachusetts General Hospital’s Lunder Pavilion, NYU’s Langone’s Kimmel Pavilion and Charoen Pokphand Medical Center in Bangkok, and landmark commercial high-rises such as Keppel South Central and The Sail @ Marina Bay, both in Singapore.
A former Chairman of the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat, Tim currently serves on the Urban Land Institute’s Global Economic Council. He has been interviewed by the Wall Street Journal, BBC, CNN, Bloomberg News and other business and design media.
