Principal I Urban Environments Market Leader
A planner and urban designer, Kim specializes in community engagement, planning and design for a variety of clients and land uses. She partners with clients—such as UC Irvine Health Medical Center, the City of Bellevue, the Port of Everett and University of Washington—to identify and define the problem to be solved. She leads a collaborative effort to understand the issues then develops a number of alternatives and ultimately, evaluates and selects the most appropriate solution.
Kim’s leadership for multiple projects across the Pacific Northwest region involves close coordination with state and municipal agencies to achieve successful resolution. Her recent work includes campus and facility master planning, feasibility studies, regulatory analysis, space programming, pre-design planning, and consensus-building among stakeholders and community groups.
Outside of NBBJ, Kim is a frequent speaker at leading conferences across the U.S., including APA and SCUP. Most recently, she was elected to a 2-year term as the Director of Communications for the APA Women & Planning Division. She is also engaged in the APA Private Practice Division and is an active participant in the APA Washington chapter.
