As the director of NBBJ’s New York healthcare practice, Jamie May leads complex, large-scale healthcare projects and organizes the best teams to successfully deliver those projects. For Jamie, functional healthcare architecture is only half of the equation — an environment is only successful when it also inspires patients, staff and visitors.
With strong management skills and an ability to effectively communicate with all internal and external stakeholders, including industry leaders in healthcare and academia, his leadership resolves difficult planning issues and results in outstanding architectural solutions. He has particular expertise in deep research, high-level strategy, organizing large teams, bringing people to consensus, coalescing design teams around a shared vision, and project oversight.
Jamie has completed award-winning projects with clients such as NYU Langone Medical Center, Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, Northwell Health and Mount Sinai Hospital. He has also lectured and published on a variety of healthcare topics, including in Jain Malkin’s peer-reviewed “A Visual Reference for Evidence-Based Design.”
