Soaring High, but Still Connected
Tencent Seafront Towers
vivo’s new Shenzhen headquarters prioritizes the health and wellbeing of employees, in a striking tower scored with an elegant spiral of exterior gardens and alternate work environments. The tower spirals upward, 150 meters — or 32 stories — and features a glass exterior with horizontal panels that frame ocean views and shade against direct sunlight.
From the street level up, the building is intended to be warm and welcoming, with grand stairs connecting a sunken garden, flagship vivo store, retail, eateries, conference center and an employee cafeteria. Employee amenities then spiral upward through planted terraces and gardens at the middle levels before culminating at a penthouse offering event spaces, conference rooms and sweeping views of Qianhai Bay.
In keeping with vivo’s culture, the design of the building aspires WELL and LEED Gold certification. To support China’s “Sponge City” initiative, concept. the design utilizes permeable surfaces and landscaping wherever possible to promote drainage back into the ground. The geometry of the building creates self-shading in the summer and added daylight in the winter.
