With residential-inspired furniture and décor, the New York office of New Enterprise Associates (NEA) is a comfortable environment designed for a new era of mobile work.

NEA is one of the world’s largest venture capital firms, with an investment focus on technology and healthcare. Because the company has few permanent New York employees, it turned to NBBJ to develop a forward-thinking workplace to serve as a touch-down space for traveling staff and client meetings.

The new jewel-like suite accommodates meetings and events with investors and entrepreneurs. Located in the top floor of a loft building just off Union Square, the workplace features high coffered ceilings, exposed beams and glass walls that allow daylight to flood in from both sides. Contrasting dark bronze metal accents speak to the industrial heritage of the neighborhood.

Furniture is curated with both classic and custom pieces to accommodate all types of collaboration, from formal board meetings to brainstorming sessions to quick informal get-togethers — or even private, heads-down work.
