We cultivate a practice of leaders: a collaboration among optimistic, empowered experts.

Steve McConnell, FAIA, LEED AP

Architect, managing partner and board member of NBBJ, Steve McConnell oversees the firm’s global platform and its day-to-day operations — some 800 people networked across 11 offices, serving pioneering clients throughout North America, Europe, Asia and the Middle East. Together, Steve and his colleagues at NBBJ comprise a network of architects, interior and experience designers, innovators, clinical professionals, technologists, researchers and urbanists.

Drawing inspiration from the shifting patterns of contemporary life and economic forces, Steve believes in marrying the art of design with the science of high performance as a driving creative force to inspire and improve individual and organizational wellbeing. Recently, NBBJ was recognized as the most innovative architecture firm in the world by Fast Company and as a firm “redefining the future of practice” by Architectural Record.

Steve’s project work spans international, domestic, public and private markets. Highlights include the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation campus, Hong Kong’s Asia World Expo, Reebok’s World Headquarters, and United States courthouses in Seattle, Billings and Bakersfield. His projects have received more than 50 awards from AIA, business, real-estate, industry and government programs.
