When the Grange Insurance Company needed more space, they faced a choice: expand their urban headquarters in Columbus, or move to a greenfield site outside the city. Ultimately they decided to recommit to the Brewery District neighborhood, but they also wanted better connections to nature — that’s where NBBJ’s landscape designers came in.
Now, the project has been prominently featured by World Landscape Architecture. The story describes the green roof, water features, plantings, plaza and urban planning that have made the headquarters such a success. “The plaza’s components are executed with a high level of craft,” said the magazine, elsewhere describing the project as “attractive” and “bold.”
