Patrick Tedesco to Speak at the SCUP 2013 North Atlantic Regional Conference

SCUP 2013 North Atlantic Regional Conference: Global, Local, or “Glocal”: Identity for Higher Education in an International Context, May 3, 2013, McGill University, Montreal, Canada

As increasing demands are put on an aging inventory of academic facilities on dense urban campuses, this session will explore the challenges faced when developing master plans that meet global aspirations within the context of complex local conditions. NBBJ’s Patrick Tedesco will co-present on the vision behind Northeastern University’s master plan, which focuses on interdisciplinary research, innovation, entrepreneurship, and expanded Masters and PhD programs.

The transformation envisioned by the master plan is a continuation of the previous 10-year vision that set the framework for Northeastern’s evolution from a campus serving a large commuter population to one that now houses a significant on-campus residential community. This evolution has contributed to the University’s rapidly increasing national and international reach along with an emphasis on experiential learning that takes undergraduates far beyond the confines of the Boston campus.
