The Lexington Herald Cites NBBJ Reccomendation to Renovate Home of University of Kentucky Wildcats Basketball

The Lexington Herald-Leader breaks down the details of an NBBJ study which finds Rupp Arena could be renovated instead of replaced, saving the city an estimated $195 million in costs compared with construction of a new facility. Brent Rice, chairman of the Arena, Arts & Entertainment Task Force said, “answering this question was essential for our on-going examination of options, and it was important for the community at large as well.”

The NBBJ study also suggests increasing seating capacity, replacing benches with tilt-back seats, and the introduction of suites and hospitality spaces to the arena.
